Turning Tragedy into Action: The Fight for DUI Accountability and Recovery in Virginia
On November 16, 2024, Patrick LeDoux—a courageous young man who fought and won his battle against addiction—was tragically killed by a wrong-way driver on I-95 operating at nearly triple the legal limit (0.22–0.24 BAC). Despite the severe negligence and a total lack of remorse, Virginia’s sentencing loopholes mean his killer will serve only a fraction of his active prison sentence.
We refuse to let Patrick's stolen future be the end of his story. The Live Like Patrick Foundation has launched a comprehensive, five-pillar legislative initiative targeting the Virginia General Assembly.
Our mission is clear: enforce absolute sentencing accountability, mandate total transparency for victims' families, close frontend ignition interlock loopholes, and fund critical youth prevention and collegiate recovery programs. Explore our official proposal below and join us in demanding a safer, more just Commonwealth.
