He Worked Hard For His Sobriety
The light had come on for him and he was living so freely. We don't often get to see people come to AA and get this thing and watch God show up. Patrick had it. He had his glow, his laughter, his tenacity. He worked hard for his sobriety and his friends and family.

I Will Miss Every Part of That Boy
I will miss every part of that boy. I’ll miss his optimism,
that stubborn, reckless hope
that made me believe the impossible,
that we had forever. I’ll miss his smile,
the one that lit his face like a sunrise
and turned my worst days into something golden. I’ll miss his smell,

that lingers on his clothes,
